Turned out to be a no luck day. A strange gridding saw me starting on the 2nd row (how do you get gridded on the front for the first race, finish 2nd and end up on the 2nd row for the next?). No matter, I had a good start and was 2nd behind David Fraser less than half way round the 1st lap. I was feeling comfortable and just planned to sit in his wheel for a while. Unfortunately David caught the tape on a corner which didn't affect him but it caught in my rear mech leaving me some skipping gears and a decision to make. I decided to stop and try and untangle it which in hindsight I should have done later to see how it went because I still had the bigger gears which on this course wouldn't have been too bad, guess I'll never know whether it was the right decision or not. Anyway, I set about the chase but never made any progress on the leaders and finished 9th, about 2 minutes down. A very impressive win for a very lovely looking lady from Ciclos Uno, I hope she races some more this season
